Our role
We translate public guidance and common recordkeeping problems into checklists, questions and organizational tools. The site helps users identify whether a difference involves proceeds, acquisition history, transfers or software classification before contacting an issuer, using reconciliation software, sharing records with a preparer or seeking qualified advice.
Our qualifications and boundaries
Digital Echoes Academy is not a CPA firm, law firm, Enrolled Agent practice, tax-return preparer or government agency. We do not claim that our research team is a tax auditor. Our tools do not calculate tax liability, determine tax treatment, predict audits, prepare returns or establish that a form is incorrect.
Editorial process
- Start with a specific recordkeeping question.
- Check federal Form 1099-DA claims against IRS materials.
- Separate a missing record from a proven reporting error.
- Disclose the purpose and limitations of each tool.
- Use clear publication and material-update dates.
- Correct substantive errors and update platform instructions as interfaces change.
Professional review
Content is not labeled “reviewed by a CPA,” “reviewed by an Enrolled Agent” or similar unless a qualified person has reviewed the exact published content and authorized attribution. Users with unresolved reporting or tax-treatment questions should consult an appropriately qualified professional with relevant digital-asset experience.
