Binance.US 1099-DA: review exports and transfer history

Keep Binance.US records distinct from international Binance accounts, self-custody wallets and other exchanges.

Direct answer: Confirm which legal platform issued the form and which account history supports it. Binance.US and other Binance services are not interchangeable record sources. Export the relevant Binance.US activity, then match outside deposits and withdrawals to the platform where the asset was originally acquired.

First identify the issuer and account

Do not combine similarly branded platforms without checking the issuer shown on the form. Record the account identifier, tax year and document version. Keep separate export folders for Binance.US, any international platform and every self-custody wallet.

Why platform separation matters

If an asset was acquired on another platform and later deposited into Binance.US, the Binance.US disposal record may not contain the earlier acquisition evidence. Conversely, importing multiple Binance-branded accounts as if they were one source can create duplicated or unmatched activity.

Review sequence

  1. Match the reported disposal to Binance.US activity.
  2. Determine whether the disagreement concerns proceeds or basis.
  3. For every outside deposit, find the corresponding withdrawal or wallet send.
  4. Locate the earliest relevant acquisition and fees.
  5. Confirm that tax software imported each source once and matched transfers correctly.

When to contact support

Contact the issuer when a specific reported item cannot be reconciled with its own underlying records, or if the form appears to belong to the wrong account or taxpayer. Provide non-sensitive transaction evidence and retain correspondence.

Never provide a seed phrase or private key. Public transaction evidence can document a transfer; access credentials should remain private.
